Sheila was raised in the Southwest but has lived in Spokane for the past 24 years. Before Family Impact Network, Sheila led system change efforts in the homeless system, developed homeless housing programs and worked with families experiencing homelessness, child welfare involvement and poverty. Sheila was drawn to FIN’s work because she believes that quality services and strong communities strengthens families. FIN has the unique opportunity to collaborate with our partners and service providers to build a service delivery system that meets the individual needs of children and families, providing opportunity for healing and stability.
Director of Programs
Shannon grew up in Southern California and moved to Spokane to attend Whitworth University and made Spokane her home.
Her most important work is being a mom to 4 kids. Next important has been working with children and families in need for 18 years as a social worker. Shannon has been with FIN from the beginning and feels lucky to work with a great team to make a difference with providers who give families what they need to make a difference in their lives.
Shannon chose to work for an agency like FIN because she wanted to make a difference for families in a different way than direct service. FIN is in a unique position to help support providers who provide the critical services families need in order to be the best they can be.
Director of Finance
Jessica graduated Cum Laude from Eastern Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting in 2008. She has been a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Washington state since 2010.
Her previous professional experience includes working for a non-profit medical residency program and working as a financial statement auditor at two public accounting firms in Spokane. Jessica joined Family Impact Network in 2018.
Jessica was drawn to work for Family Impact Network because she has a passion for wanting to help foster children. She and her husband were previously foster parents, and they were able to adopt their youngest son from the foster care system in 2015.
Director of Operations
Mike is a native Washingtonian and has lived in Spokane going on 30 years. Careers have taken him from the Army to business and teaching and now non-profits where he has worked in since 2011.
He is proud to help build and grow a program that centers on supporting the work of professionals making a difference in the lives of children and families.
Born and raised in Spokane, WA, Monica has a strong sense of community. She has a passion to serve people in any capacity needed. She has raised a blended family and has volunteered and served for many years in Spokane. Monica believes in the Family Impact Network’s mission and is humbled to be a part of this great team.
Network Administrator Manager
Jenna was born and raised in Spokane, WA. She joined the FIN team in 2017 as a Resource Specialist. Prior to that, she worked at YFA Connections as front desk support. She has a bachelor’s degree in Social Services from Whitworth University. In her down time, Jenna loves spending time with her partner Jackson, very adorable 10-year-old daughter, Aubree, their 3 dogs, 1 cat, and 9 fish.
Network Administrator Assistant Manager
Mariah is passionate about two things; her dogs and helping the community that shaped her. After experiencing the impact, she can have on her community while working for the City of Spokane, Mariah geared her sights on working in Social Services. While attending school locally, Mariah worked for YFA Connections where she first gained experience in an administrative support role and furthered her desire to make a positive impact for those vulnerable in our community. Mariah was drawn to FIN because their mission to positively touch the lives of families fulfills a clear need in the current system, and she plays a minor role in helping families in Washington. Best part, she does with her dogs at her side.
Senior Resource Specialist
Born in Las Vegas, NV and has spent over 15 years in Spokane.
Prior to joining Family Impact Network, Jessica spent six years working for a Chemical Dependency and Co-Occurring Outpatient Facility where she provided various administrative support throughout her time there. Jessica’s experience has allowed her to work with a diverse population within the Spokane Community and has a passion for giving back to the community she calls home.
Danielle Valentine was born and raised in a small town in Montana. Her passion for helping others, love for people, and looking for more opportunities brought her to Washington. Danielle has been a loyal resident of Spokane for the past 16 years where she has planted her roots by raising her family and furthering her education. Danielle graduated from Whitworth University with Cum Laude honors earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Services. Danielle’s dedication towards helping families and children drew her towards working with FIN, where families with limited resources can transition from crisis to stability. She officially joined the FIN family in June of 2021. In her free time, Danielle loves doing anything that involves spending time with her children, family, and friends.
Erin Scott has been happily employed with FIN since February 2021. She was drawn to their mission of helping connect families and making a difference in the lives of others, offering a means to stability and sustainability. Before coming to FIN, she worked as a Para Educator with Mead School District, where she had the privilege of helping special needs children. She also owned her own in-home daycare for 13 years, which granted her the opportunity to stay home with her children over the years. She wanted something more for herself and her future, which would allow her to still be involved in helping and nurturing children in some capacity. She decided to return to college and focus on a career in Social Services. She graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors from Whitworth University, earning a bachelor’s degree in Human Services. She plans to return to school in the very near future and pursue a master’s in Social Work. She has four amazing children and a significant other who keep her very busy. When she is not spending quality time with family; she enjoys drawing, reading, hiking, camping, ghostly adventures and being around close friends.
Sterling was born and raised in Seattle, then moved to Spokane about 4 years ago. She attended University of Mount Olive where she was on the Women’s Soccer Team and double majored in Biology and Education. Prior to joining FIN, she worked for Eastern Washington University and volunteered at the Pregnancy Aid. Sterling love sports and spending time with my family and two German Shepherds. Sterling chose to work for FIN because it was an opportunity to make a big impact on the lives of families in the community, she lives in.
Quality Development Manager
Jamie came to Family Impact Network in 2015 from Adult Protective Services where she worked as an Investigator. Prior to that, she worked as a Psychiatric Triage Counselor in the Emergency Room at Sacred Heart Medical Center. Jamie’s experience has allowed her to work with diverse populations and clients of all ages. Jamie holds a degree in Social Work from Eastern Washington University. She chose to work for an agency with FIN’s mission to use her knowledge and experience from direct client work, to look at larger systems and help make a difference for families in our community in a different way.
Quality Development Specialist
Gustavo was born in California and was raised in Toppenish, Washington. Prior to Joining FIN Gustavo worked as a Direct Care Staff Member with at-risk youth where he helped BRS clients achieve their permanency plan through skill development and conflict resolution. He has experience working as an Administrative Generalist, Executive Assistant, and a Customer Service Representative. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Heritage University. Gustavo chose to work at FIN to continue supporting families in Yakima County and the surrounding areas.
Resource Specialist & Workforce Training Coordinator
Joanna has lived in Spokane for 2 years and loves all that it has to offer. She is a Southern California native. Prior to relocating she was involved in safety, training, and emergency medicine. Joanna loves working at FIN because it isn’t a typical 8-5 job. She says it’s a place where she gets to be part of making an impact on under-resourced children and families. Joanna is delighted to be a part of this team.
Senior Compliance Specialist
Val was born in Spokane and raised in a small town in Eastern Washington. Prior to joining FIN, Val held several positions in the public sector where she worked with victims and witnesses of crimes, youth involved in the juvenile justice system, and legislative services. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Development from WSU (Go Cougs!) and a Master’s in Public Administration from EWU. She has always been drawn to the work of assisting and supporting others through difficult times for their future success.
Jessie grew up in Spokane Valley and, after leaving the area for education and early professional experience, is excited to be back home raising her two daughters here with her husband. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Humanities from Brigham Young University and her professional background covers a range of non-profits focused on youth civic engagement, regional healthcare access, and now child and family support. She is drawn to this work because she believes that a strong family unit is the foundation for healthy individuals and a healthy society and believes that all parents need support in raising children to become happy, productive adults.
Shelby grew up in Tri-Cities, WA and graduated from Eastern Washington University in 2016.
With her background of working with under-resourced children and families, primarily in early childhood education, she chose to work at FIN to help create healthy and strong families through access to services and resources.
Gabi was raised in Spokane, Washington and attended Eastern Washington University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Finance. Prior to joining Family Impact Network, she worked with the Boy Scouts of America providing support to the program development as well as the finance operations. Gabi has developed a strong sense of devotion for the nonprofit sector and hopes to be able to support those programs that improve the quality of life for our regions. Go Eagles!
Senior Billing Specialist
Nicole is a lifelong resident of the Pacific Northwest, and currently resides not far from her childhood home in the Spokane Valley. Nicole came to FIN after working as a medical biller and an accounts analyst. She has an administrative and clerical background, but also spent time pursuing her passion in the Interior Design and Architecture program at Spokane Falls Community College prior to moving into the Healthcare field. Nicole made the transition to her position with FIN wanting to find a career that made a true impact on the community that she loves. Her employment at FIN has allowed her to be an advocate for providers that are on the ground helping the most vulnerable population in her community. Nicole is very proud that she has a small part in supporting the very meaningful work that helps families all over the state of Washington.
June grew up in Vancouver, Washington and moved to Eastern Washington to attend Washington State University, Pullman, Washington. I have a BA in Social Science with a minor in Sociology.
I have over 20 years of experience in Billing, Data Quality, Process improvement, Client and Vendor Relations and Team Management.

Kori was born in Tacoma, WA, and although she moved around the West Coast a bit growing up, she ended up back in Washington State in 1991 when her father retired from the government. In addition to being a very proud mother of two grown boys, Kori is a firm believer in animal rescue and typically cares for three to five fur-babies at any given time. Prior to joining Family Impact Network, Kori devoted 10+ years working in the Spokane non-profit community serving children and families, helping bring them closer together and form healthier connections. Aside from making sure she never misses a MARVEL movie; Kori is a die-hard Seahawk fan through thick & thin! Go Hawks!

Family Impact Network supports public and private efforts to transition under-resourced children and families from crisis to stability. With a focus on outcomes and quality services, FIN is partnering with the Department of Children, Youth and Families and service providers to serve as the Network Administrator in twenty counties in Eastern and Central Washington. Through this work FIN provides resources and services to vulnerable children and families to address safety, prevention, permanency and stability, and overall well-being.
