Robert was raised in Indiana and moved to the Northwest in 2002 to become a chef. Several years later, he began his journey from community college to the University of Pennsylvania, where he won a Fulbright scholarship and trained as a historian of modern Japan. After a Harvard fellowship, he and his family moved to Spokane to be closer to family and to work as a data analyst and grant development consultant.
Robert joined FIN because having grown up poor he experienced first-hand the life-changing benefits timely aid can bring to families. Now he uses his skills in grant writing and community outreach to secure more resources for FIN's important work.
